andy baio's upcoming.org seems as if it'll be an one of those web based tools [like dropload] that i use on a fairly regular basis. basically, upcoming acts as a publicly updated event calendar for individual metro areas. they even provide a discussion area for each event and andy's got plans to implement a whole bunch of other handy features along the way.
