jim and i made dinner tonight - it was my menu and jim was the prep chef - and i must say that it came out damn good. we made up some sirloin on the barbeque topped with grilled onions and mushrooms [a.k.a.: sunday steak], cheddar-bacon-garlic mashed potatoes [a.k.a.:death by potato], and a mustard green and spinach salad with homemade blue cheese dressing [a.k.a.: mustard green and spinach salad with homemade blue cheese dressing]. nobody walked away from the table any less than stuffed and satisfied, which i think is a good thing.

jim and i had so much fun making dinner tonight that we decided that we're hijacking the kitchen every other sunday to make dinner. neither my mom or my dad has any arguments... and i've got a distinct feeling that my mom wouldn't mind if we did it every sunday night. next up jim's probably going to whip up alton brown's forty cloves and a chicken or lamb with veggie kabob. either sounds kick ass, but i'm really hoping we get to do forty cloves and a chicken.

now if you'll pardon me, i'm going to go into a food induced coma...
