don't belive the hype

fraser speirs [author of the flickr export iphoto plugin] has pretty much summed up how i feel about podcasting...

I finished off at the hotel yesterday by sitting around chatting with Brent, James, Buzz and Jason. Most of us had been in the session about Podcasting and were still trying to work out why we would want to burn through our bandwidth and fill our iPods with the sounds of Adam Curry smoking dope somewhere on the border of Holland and Belgium.

maybe i just don't get it, but podcasts seem to me like low rent talk radio. none of the feeds really interest me enough to want to keep checking them out. were there to be a feed full of mash-ups from get your bootleg on, my altogether negative tone may change to a much more positive one.
